Using Sockets

Postby kevinotton » Thu May 05, 2016 1:19 pm

Is there an easy way to create sockets to an IP address with Port number and send / listen for responses.

I can find Java examples and some basic PHP scripts but these do not work very well.

Thanks

Can anyone explain how this can be used from Crossui or supply an example. Not sure where to / how to include the node.js stuff.

Thanks

HTML5 supports a mechanism called WebSockets which can be used to communicate with a server app from within the browser app. I'm using this extensively to communicate with a specialized real-time server-side app that implements a telemetry system of sorts, but it requires code on the server.

Thanks I will look. Node.js looks like it will do what I need bUT I always struggle with where to put these and how to link. The var require for example needs to know where to look.
